About the NHIPA
What is the North Hills Instrumental Parents Association?
NHIPA is the “booster group” for all North Hills School District instrumental music students in grades 4-12. It is an all-volunteer organization whose members include parents of North Hills instrumental music students and friends of North Hills music education such as alumni, alumni parents, community members, and others wishing to support the NHIPA mission. The NHIPA works cooperatively with students, faculty, and the school district so that our nationally-recognized program will continue to offer outstanding experiences in instrumental music education.
Instrumental music students represent 20% of our district’s total enrollment and participate in:
* Elementary Bands and Elementary Strings (Grades 4-6)
* Middle School Beginning Band, Cadet Band, Varsity Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Bands & Strings (Grades 7-8)
* High School Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band & Orchestra (Grades 9-12)
* North Hills High School Marching Band - Thee Band of Pride, Tradition, and Excellence! (Grades 8-12)
What does the NHIPA Support?
* Performance Trips for the Marching Band and for High School and Middle School ensembles.
* Marching Band Camp and Marching Band Performances at Football Games, Music Festivals, Parades, and other events.
* The North Hills Commission Series of new musical works composed for and premiered by a High School ensemble.
* Senior Banquet and Marching Band Banquet to recognize student achievements.
* Summer Strings Camp for Elementary and Middle School Strings.
* Elementary Bands and Strings concert amenities to help engage young musicians.
* Special opportunities in music education for all levels, as requested by the faculty of the North Hills Instrumental Music Department.
How does the NHIPA Raise Funds?
* Annual Marching Band Festival, Vendor Fair, Mardi Gras, and Funny Fundraiser events.
* Sales of specialty foods, gift cards, coupon books, apparel, and spirit items.
* Special Fundraising Promotions by season and at concerts and other events.
* Donations from individuals and businesses wishing to support music education.
