Performing at local events, like the Memorial Day Parade, is an important part of what we do. So here are the details:

First, TAKE INSTRUMENTS HOME FRIDAY FROM SCHOOL, then,

Monday, May 27
Summer uniform: white band polo tucked in, black pants, black socks, white bucks

Drink lot of water, even thought it will be in the 60's for the parade

Meet at 9 AM at WV elementary

LEAVE CASES IN YOUR CAR

Parade starts at 10 AM

End at the West View VFW where we will perform several pieces in their memorial ceremony

Students can be picked up there when we are done, probably around 11 am

We will play Washington Post in the Parade and God Bless America (you received in school this week) and Star Spangled Banner for the ceremony. Feel free to bring a lyre in your pocket (or a rubber band, flutes) to use music in G.B.A.

e-mail Mr. Lavelle with any questions - thank you.

Despite some rough weather we had a great weekend together. Our Rock Orchestra performed wonderfully for a packed house on the main stage of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this weekend. And our bands swept the Festivals of Music Competition at Cedar Point:

Wind Ensemble – Superior Rating, 1st Place, Symphonic Band – Superior Rating, 1st Place, Jazz Band – Superior Rating, 1st Place, Marching Band – Superior Rating, 1st Place

Wind Ensemble – Best Overall Concert Band, Jazz Band – Best Overall Jazz Band, Marching Band – Best Overall Marching Band

Thank you parents, friends and family for all you do to make this possible for our students! You are the best!

We hope you will join us!!!!
